Removing or replacing the standard logo

If you want to remove or replace the standard Micro Formatica logo in Desktop Organizer, follow these steps:
  • Given that you installed Desktop Organizer on the standard location, go to (without the quotes) "%PROGRAMFILES%\Micro Formatica\Micro Formatica Desktop Organizer" in Windows Explorer.
  • Replace or delete "logo.png". Example
  • Do not use a picture with a lot of black or any dark color.


Reset the Desktop Organizer environment

If you want to reset the standard Micro Formatica environment for any reason, follow these steps:
  • Exit Desktop Organizer
  • Go to (without the quotes) "%appdata%\DeskOrganize?" in Windows Explorer. Example
  • Delete all the files
  • Start Desktop Organizer and enjoy your fresh environment


I cannot see the shell extension

Please follow these steps:
  • Confirm you are using version Desktop Organizer 1.6 otherwise, install it.
  • Confirm you are using Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista.
  • Goto (without the quotes) "%systemroot%\assembly" and confirm there is an assembly called Desktop Explorer and an assembly called Desktop Organizer
  • If so, run (without the quotes) "%programfiles%\Micro Formatica\Desktop Organizer\regme.exe"
  • Reboot
  • If the extension doesn't run by right-clicking the menubar, remove and re-install Desktop Organizer 1.6.
  • If after a fresh re-install the application doesn't run, please contact Micro Formatica by using the "Support Incident" form
